Rugged Mechanical Torque Grip & Clog-Free Performance
Conical spring mechanical seals feature a highly robust, single tapered coil spring design that utilizes the rotation of the shaft to transmit torque. By shrinking-fit onto the shaft sleeve, the conical spring grips securely, completely eliminating the need for dynamic drive pins, set screws, or keyways in many pump setups. This makes the installation extremely simple, compact, and less prone to mechanical failures.
Micro Engineering manufactures reliable conical spring seals using premium tempered SS316 springs. Due to the heavy wire diameter and wide-pitch conical design, these seals are highly resistant to clogging in dirty water, sewage, paper pulp stocks, and moderate slurries. Because torque transmission is driven by spring coil windage, the seal is direction-dependent, requiring right-hand or left-hand spring coiling to match the pump shaft rotation direction.
Ideal for municipal sewage pumps, wastewater extraction, pulp & paper mills, agricultural booster pumps, and bilge/ballast marine loops.
